Accessibility
We want this site to work for everyone. We are aiming for WCAG 2.1 level AA, the standard most accessibility laws point to.
What is in place
- Photographs have text descriptions.
- The whole site works from a keyboard, including the photo viewer. Escape closes it and the arrow keys move between photographs.
- A "skip to content" link is the first thing on every page.
- Pages use headings, landmarks and labeled menus so screen readers can find their way around.
- Text and background colors are chosen for readable contrast, and the pages work on phones.
- Motion is minimal and follows your device's "reduce motion" setting.
Known limits
- Videos play in YouTube and Vimeo players. Those players have keyboard controls and caption support, but not every film here has captions yet.
- The tour map on the AJ Kross page is a map, which is hard to use with a screen reader. The stops are also listed as text beside it.
- We check pages with an automated tool (axe) and by hand. That finds a lot but not everything.
Tell us about a problem
If something does not work for you, or you need something in another form (a description of a photograph, a transcript or captions for a film), email [email protected]. Tell us the page and what happened. We will reply within five business days and fix what we can.
